Allan has eight years of experience as a sell-side analyst covering the semiconductor industry.  He focuses on communications semiconductor companies, in particular those driving innovation in networking, broadband, telecom, and wireless applications.  Allan performs deep analysis of many product cycles impacting the technology and communications sectors.  He utilizes his knowledge of key trends, the hardware supply chain, and vendor positions to identify insurgent companies on the rise as well as those at risk.

Allan began his career at CIBC World Markets and moved over to Oppenheimer & Co. in 2008 with the sale of CIBC’s US capital markets business.  His prior coverage included Broadcom, Marvell, and Texas Instruments, as well as more focused players such as PMC-Sierra, Atheros, NetLogic, and Cavium.  In addition to his company research, Allan performed extensive modeling of industry data and trends, spearheading the firm’s annual 400+ page Semiconductor Technology and Market Primer.  He also participated in numerous semiconductor & technology focused conferences and bus tours.

Allan has a B.S. in finance and accounting & graduated valedictorian from New York University’s Stern School of Business Undergraduate College.
