Robert GoldMedical Devices Senior Analyst & Managing DirectorRobert enjoyed a 20 year career at Standard & Poor’s Equity Research, most recently as co-Director of a U.S. staff of 65 analysts as well as the primary analyst following the medical devices group. He was the head of Health Care sector research since 1996, leading a team of analysts covering the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life science tools, HMO, facilities and specialized services areas. Robert has followed the medical equipment group since 1998. His coverage included the orthopedics, cardiology, oncology and capital equipment areas following names such as Medtronic, Boston Scientific, St. Jude Medical, Stryker, Varian Medical Systems and Zimmer Holdings. In 2003, Robert was recognized as one of the “Best on the Street” by the Wall Street Journal for outstanding stock selection in the medical products category. Prior to 1998, Robert established S&P coverage on both the hospital and managed care subsectors. He has been widely quoted in major media outlets and trade publications regarding the healthcare sector and medical device subsector. Before joining S&P, Robert was employed in the Wealth Management division of U.S. Trust of NY, where he worked with two senior portfolio managers in both an investment management and client relationship role associated with the firm’s high net worth client base. Robert has an MBA in Corporate Finance from Pace University and a BBA in Business Administration and Finance from The George Washington University. |
